Okay, so there's not a comic per say, but I wanted to share some of the snazzy artwork I've done for Sogen Con 2012.  I'm particularly fond of our theme this year, and believe me when I say we are working our happy little asses off to make sure that the con is shiny and new and ready to kick all forms of butt this July.

You should pre-reg, because this is one con where Richard and I don't guest it...we run it.  Really.  Richard is the con chair and I'm the Art Department head.  Check it out at Sogencon.org

Happy Monday!

Why mouth work blows, and I can't wait for summer to be done.

If you missed it, I had a root canal about two weeks ago, and last week we discovered that they made the fillings too long. So it infected, and my whole mouth went kaboom, and I had to stay home from work and sit on the couch in a vicodin haze for a couple of days while I healed up.  I'm on the road to recovery but I still have some work to do, i.e. one more root canal and crown, and a wisdom tooth has to be yanked at some point soon.  Still, it's no where near the work Richard is in the middle of.  Update for those of you interested, he's had 3 more extractions, and is healing up nicely!  I think he has one more, then some root canals and cleanup work, and then they can start fitting him for the permanent bridge.  I still can't thank you guys enough for your donations to the community fund that is now paying for this.  I am still working on a week of updates-I didn't forget!  But I've been swamped.

I decided that after this year, I'm going to put some other things on the side so that I can continue to focus a bit more on the two things that I love; drawing and dancing.  I need to focus and really try some new stuff. :) I think you guys will be in for a treat with our future projects.

SO...comic will be up at midnight tonight, pre-loaded and everything!

Have an awesome week, and remember...be good to one another. <3

4-16: Comic Posted!

Comic is posted! Would have been up this morning, but a dual issue of me screaming over the layout, freaking over something stupid, and then having to spend the majority of my working day at my dance studio auditioning folks kind of bit into my time. And I love you all, but Sunday nights, NO ONE takes me away from Tyrian Lannester.

It's going to be a fun week.  I get to go in for a root canal on Wednesday night, and Richard is having two more extractions that same evening. We are going to be one surly pair, that's for damned sure.  I'm not looking forward to it, but it needs to be done.  And I'll probably have one more down the road but baby steps first.

Drazz will be at No Brand promoting Sogen Con, and I've got dance gigs coming up, plus I'm working on an illustration project for someone.

More to come soon ;)

Post-Detour wrap up

There's a wee bit of filler up until Monday evening when I can actually finish the comic.  Something about today's layout is just pissing me off and I had to walk away, so I figured I'd do a little filler to tide you all over.

Anime Detour was...well, it was AMAZING this year.  It's always amazing but this year they really outdid themselves.  I had a splendid time, though poor Richard was exhausted at the end of the weekend because of pulling dual duty as guest of honor and chairman of another con, so we did a lot of Sogencon promotion as well.  Was it tiring?  Yes, but it was worth it.

Highlights of the weekend included seeing our good friend Lizzy H. whom we haven't seen in ages, Lori, and Ally...who needs to be closer because honestly, I miss having a bloody mary buddy on Sundays.  We also spent some time pimping out our buddies at Scoundrelle's Keep, and I spent the better part of Friday rocking one of her corsets.  If you like steampunk, or corsetry, or just like to look dapper and pretty, she's the place to visit.  Tell Heather that we sent you...she may hurt me otherwise. ;)

The Sogen room party was a particular blast and seemed well attended. Also, a quick note, since I'm a department head for Sogen this year, registration has gone up, so you missed the $30 registration if you didn't hit it. But don't worry, there are still awesome prices. You should come!

We also had the opportunity to do a panel with Charles from the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund this past weekend, and I'd like to thank them for giving the studio the chance to sit in on that panel.  If you don't know who they are or what they do, I urge you wholeheartedly to click the link and go check them out, and read Ryan's story in particular.  The things this poor man has been through are just unbelievable, and something EVERY fan of comics or the Anime industry needs to hear.  The CBLDF does amazing work, and I was proud to have been a part of their panel.  And a huge thanks to Charles for dealing with my ADD bullshit all weekend.

I hope everyone had a happy holiday weekend!  Comic is on it's way, as is a full letter to Detour thanking them for such a rockin' weekend.

And now, I'm going to go figure out what to do for dinner, and possibly give Goku-cat a bath.  Ugh...

Love,

Shannon.
