Okay, we're trying something different this weekend!
The Studio ONY Con Cam will be live Saturday from Anime Nebraskon. What is the Studio ONY Con Cam? It's a nifty way to check out what we're doing behind the table at the convention! You can jump in a room, chat with us while we man our table, see what's shakin at the convention, and basically have a good time. We have a scheduled viewing Saturday, but the Con Cam will be up and running on and off throughout the weekend, so visit often and see whats up. We will try to post a Facebook update any time we start a new session so that you can keep in the loop. =) Check it out at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/studioony
<-------ALSO, NEW VOTE INCENTIVE POSTED! CLICKY CLICKY FOR SEXINESS!
When we return from Nebraskon, a new comic will be posted no later than Tuesday night. Meanwhile, you can check out a free preview of the vote incentive that was put up today. Also, I'm happy to announce that due to strange and surprisingly overwhelming feedback, Mythical Magical Super All Purpose Cosplay Girl Nobaki will be available in small digest forms next year at a con near you as well as on this site! So don't fret if you haven't caught yourself up, or if you don't know what's going on. Join in, check it out, and then next spring you can clue yourself in on all the goodness that is Nobaku in a pink frilly dress.
Also when we return, info on the all new Studio ONY subscription program we have in the works.
Sweet Jebus. Where to start! Let's bullet point, kids. It'll be easier.
Several weeks ago, we went to the Jonathan Coulton, Paul & Storm show at The Ark in Ann Arbor, MI. Sadly we couldn't get to Chicago for their now infamous Flood show, but the one we saw was none the less epic. Many "ARR!"s were said, friends were seen, and yes, panties (and boxers) were thrown. Oh yeah, baby.
Then came Anime Detroit. It was a very quiet con, but we were thrilled to be there anyway. We had a great time sitting next to Dan "the man" Hess, creator of Angel Moxie, Realms of Ishikaze, and Weesh, and his MOM! MOM IS EPIC! And she makes some kick ass Cinci-style chili. Hey mom, wanna adopt a daughter? I come with a cat that already loves your kid. =D
While my trip to Arkansas was a sad one, we discovered a little gold mine in Mountain Home, AK. My aunt had told me about a place called Gil & Deb's, an honest to god Chicago style dog joint. I said BS. I can't even get a decent Chicago dog in Detroit! Why the hell would they have them in Arkansas?! Yeah, well, they did. And it made my very depressing, sad trip to my grandfather's funeral a bit brighter, silly as that seems. That place made me think back on so many happy memories of BBQ's in my grandparent's back yards, and all was right with the world again.
Next was Sugoicon! Last year was our first Sugoi, and we were totally geeked to be a part of their tenth anniversary. It was, in a word, awesome. I do want to apologize for the scheduling snaffus that were experienced; we had no control over many of them and believe me, if we could have fixed 'em all we would have. Try not to be too mad about it. We'll make it up to you next year. =) We had tables next to Dan and Mom again (YAAAY!) and Jamie of In His Likeness. I have never laughed so damn hard at a con all weekend long. I swear, between the two of them and all of us being crazy, I think it was one of the best times I've had at a show ever despite the drama llama nipping at my personal-business-heels. I bought a puppet and saw a sugar glider, Rich and I met the lovely Takatori Brothers (who you should really suggest as guests for other cons, gang. They are cool as hell!) and hung out with the ever-lovin-Nobaku all weekend. We also got to see Alicia, Chris, Josh, Greg, Jan, the band, and Dale introduced me to Goetta. I hate him for that, because it was actually pretty good.
I also got Graeter's. This was the best thing in the history of ever.
Finally, COMIC WILL BE UP THIS WEEK AND WE WILL RESUME VOTE INCENTIVES IN A DAY OR TWO!!!!!!!! SO KEEP VOTING!
Now, Drazz and I are going to try something different this weekend. We may actually have a Con-cam going at the table all weekend so you can chat with us and see whats going on at Nebraskon while we're there. We will post more details as we can make them available =)
I wanted to say thank you to all the well wishers and love that was sent my way upon my Grandfather's passing last week. Sadly Richard and I had to pretty much drop everything and drive the 15 and a half hours to Arkansas to attend the wake and funeral, thus cutting into just about everything last week. Sucks too; the comic was half finished before we left, and due to not getting back till pretty much Wednesday at some point, I wasn't able to get round to finishing the goofy thing till tonight. Mercifully, it is done and I just put it up for ya. I should have new vote incentives in the next day or two, so please keep voting and checking in. =)
Thank you again everyone. My Grandfather was very important to me, and he was a wonderful man. The world is a poorer place for having lost him.
Sorry guys. My grandfather passed away this morning and we have to make an emergency trip to Arkansas. Due to this, our comic will not be updated on Friday as planned. Please have patience with us while we get through this. We'll get it posted as soon as we possibly can.
October 10th! I have a cold still and feel like crap, but THERE IS A NEW INCENTIVE UP TODAY! I also have two more completed for this week already so keep voting kids =)
