Q. What is your convention schedule looking like for 2009 and 2010? A. We currently have three more shows planned for 2009 as of September, and a few in the works for 2010. It will be difficult for us to commit to anything in the early part of the year as I may be going in for some surgery that will put me out of traveling and much else for a couple of months. But we'll keep you posted. Q. Why don't we ever see you at*enter name of convention here*? Can you come to my convention?
A. I wish we had the time and finances to go to every convention our readers ask us to, but sadly we don't. If you'd like to see us at your local con, the best thing to do is POLITELY contact the guest coordinator of that convention and suggest us as guests! We've been guests at numerous conventions and we'd love to add to the growing list. Tell the staff that we do tons of panels, and that we're always looking to attend a new con! All we ask for is a table, room, and travel. We're pretty simple, and if the drive is reasonable we'll gladly drive. We have viewable guest profiles at Anime-cons.com as well. Q. We've heard rumors of other projects coming. Is that true? A. Yes! O-n-Y is our first love, but Richard and I have many stories we'd like to tell. We're currently working with a few style advisors and getting some things in place for other projects. Don't worry, O-n-Y isn't going anywhere immediately. But we're done with freelance work for the time being and really want to start doing our own stuff. Q. Is Nobaku really that scary in real life? A. Yes...and no. We'd tell you, but she'd kill us. If you'd like to support her, you can get a Flamey Fiery Death, Yay! button at a con. It might spare you the carnage. Q. Where does Drazz's nickname come from? And what's with the bandana? A. I believe he got the name from Warhammer 40k, and I'm not telling. =P Q. Hey, isn't that voice actor and ADR director Chris Ayres in your comic?! Does he know about this? A. Yup, that's Chris, along with his sippy cup of doom. And yes, he knows. =) We heart him. Although to be honest, we know he's not a method actor. It just fit the story well. Q. Hey, can you draw me something?! A. No, sorry. If I answered every art request I got, I'd never have any room to do anything else! Sometimes I take commissions, or if you catch me at conventions, anime-style caricature pictures. But sadly I can't do much more at the moment. Sorry. Q. Can you teach me how to draw Manga? A. FROM ROKU: Personally, I don't think I'm qualified to do much more than simply show you what I've learned over the years, and I would hardly call myself a 'teacher'. I do have a series of online tutorials via my DA page, and they will be availble here on the main site soon. Otherwise, you can always catch one of my panels or lectures at conventions and libraries. I speak most often in the Chicago and Detroit areas. I'm also working on an online art jam session via our website where people will be able to ask questions vie a chat room and watch the tutorial streamed. We'll have more info on that later. Q. What do you think of the 'state of the anime industry'? A. Our stance is pretty well known at this point. We do not support illegal downloading and fansubs, and we always do our own best to support the industry in every way possible. Please people, put your money where your mouth is. The industry doesn't owe you anything for free. These are real people doing their best to bring you what you want in LEGAL fashions. Please support these hard working people, or what you love may disappear soon.
