Labor Day Weekend and the Durand Fantasy Expo

It once again is Labor Day weekend.  This means that where I live, the masses are heading north for the weekend, attending the Arts Beats & Eats festival, or, hopefully, will be at the Durand Fantasy Expo tomorrow.  I hope for the latter because that's where WE will be.  We'll be at the expo all day selling books and what not, so if you are in the area come on down and buy some stuff.

I'm also sick today with a sore throat, and ended up spending all night last night on the couch drinking tea in an effort NOT to get too sick. I want this kicked in time for the expo.  Rich is also stuck on the verbage in the script, and stupid me has no buffer this week, so we're going to work together and try to fix it for next weekend.  Sorry guys.  Sometimes I just need a day away.  This is one of those days.

It was a rooooooooough week for me.  Lots of personal drama, work related mostly, has left me tired and drained beyond belief.  We also have to start packing up our house (LONG story that I will fill y'all in on later) and shipping boxes to the storage facility.  We may or may not have company this weekend too, which would rock.  So yeah, just a lot going on.  I promise this'll be the last slacktastic weekend for a while. I don't want to fall into a total rut again and it's been rough going lately.  I'd post some of the art I worked on this week but it's all con related and I don't want to piss anyone off by doing so without info.  Doh.

Anyway, I leave you with some videos of this year's stuff, including a few of our King's Island trip. =) Love ya, kiddies.  HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND! ...I'll be working, you jerks. =P

My otaku nephew, as it would be, is lured in by the clutches of the infamous Sgt. Hatred and his box of tootsie rolls.

I had a little snaffu with TWC, but it's fixed.  I promised folks Nobaki would be starting up again, and here you go.

<--- click that, vote, and get the continuing story of Nobaki.  Also, I should warn you, we'll probably have a mini comic of this weird crap before the end of the year. ;) Enjoy.

Sorry for the wait, y'all.  We had a scripting snaffu and finally got through it, so there IS a new comic today!  If you click on the TWC button, there will be a new episode of Nobaki up today as well at some point. =)  Yay for progress.  I'm having way too much fun with this story line.  I'm about the biggest Phantom dork on the planet, so it's been fun parodying such a well known story.

I want to say thank you also to all the fine folks who came to say hello at Anime Detroit, Sogencon, and Anime Iowa!  We've got a few weeks till the Durand Fantasy Expo, and then Sugoicon and Nebraskon will be our last shows of the year.  It's been crazy, and we're already confirmed for 3 shows for 2011 with more in the works, so as soon as those conventions make their announcements for the year, we'll let you in the loop.  Till then, enjoy the last of summer and stay cool, folks.

Love,

Shannon

Live Action winner!

Congratulations to our O-n-Y Live Action winner for 2010, Alan Wigness! Alan won last year as well, kicking ass and taking names and stomping all over your mom's face.  Check out his winning comic today, and bask in it's glory for the next week while Drazz and I work on more of Fanboy.  Alan has his own kick ass comic you can find here, so go read it.  We also want to thank everyone for turning in a comic! It isn't easy to do, and even seasoned writers had a tough time with this one.  I will say I don't know that we are going to do the contest again. I sort of think it's run it's course.  We're all about a little fun and games, but good lord guys, some of those entries were the kind of shit your parents would disown you over for being hateful.  There's funny and then there's just blatant idiocy, and unfortunately the blatant idiocy was tainting everyone's fun.  Sometimes a convention panel is like a dog; trustworthy and fun and awesome, until it gets so old that people just treat it like bad news as it gets old and sick and suffers, and it's safer to put it down before it suffers more.  So I think this may be the last live action.  We'll come up with something else stellar for next year. =)

I also want to thank the folks of AnimeIowa for such an awesome con again this year!  Sogen and Iowa were SO much fun this year.  We will also be at Anime Detroit next weekend partyin it up with our buddies Greg and Carrli, and at the Durand Fantasy Expo  sponsored by our buddies at Gamer's Sanctuary in a few weeks time.  Wheeeeeee for more con-age.  After that we just have Sugoi and Nebraskon for the rest of the year, so we are in the home stretch!  Which is a good thing, because I'm suffering mild con-plague and my house is a mess.  I will actually be cleaning today because it NEEDS it.

I leave you with this. Happy Friday, bitches!
